ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESĀ Ā Ā 

  • Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Ā 

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.Ā 

  • Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of careĀ 

  • Documents according to standards of care.Ā 

  • Develops initiates and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Ā 

  • Utilizes resources available to teach and support patient and family education. Provides education to the appropriate level of understanding.Ā 

  • Acts to resolve systems breakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutions.Ā 

  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Ā 

  • Utilizes clinical expertise & guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Ā 

  • Utilizes critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Ā 

  • Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit/department practice activities and decisions and peer review process.Ā 

  • Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.Ā 

  • Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidenced-based practice guidelines.Ā Ā 

  • Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to organization.Ā Ā 

  • Offers ideas and/or solutions to practice issuesĀ 

  • Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of careĀ 

  • Provides innovative ways to educate patient/familiesĀ 

  • Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needsĀ 

  • IL: 20 Continuing Education Units (10 of these required for IL licensure) or WI: 20 Education HoursĀ 

  • Actively participates in a minimum of 1 departmental or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Ā Ā 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.

Minimum 2 years RN experience with a certification.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Licensed as an RN in state of practiceĀ 

Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysĀ Ā 

Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRPĀ Ā 

Professional Nursing Certification in your specialty or Advanced Degree (ex. Masters)Ā 

If hired prior to 09/01/2024 may require a Certification Completion Agreement or specific years of applicable experience to qualify per department guidelines.Ā
