Job Summary

The PPAP Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring product and process compliance through advanced dimensional inspection, measurement analysis, and problem resolution activities. This role supports manufacturing operations by performing inspections, validating product conformance, leading PPAP, and utilizing advanced measurement technologies to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. The position serves as a key quality resource, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and production teams to ensure products meet all design, customer, and regulatory requirements while continuously improving quality systems and measurement processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead internal PPAP submissions and support external PPAP submissions.
  • Perform dimensional inspections and qualification activities on parts, components, assemblies, fixtures, and production tooling.
  • Utilize advanced metrology equipment including CMMs, Faro Arms, and other precision measurement devices.
  • Analyze technical drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, BOMs, and engineering documentation to determine measurement strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop measurement plans, prepare data files, and generate detailed inspection and dimensional reports.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve process capability.
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Support ORV, snow, and other product lines through prompt identification, containment, and resolution of quality concerns.
  • Follow all safety standards and work safely around manufacturing equipment, tooling, and industrial vehicles.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Must be organized; able to track, work, and take to closure multiple tasks.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, and reporting skills.
  • Have an excellent attendance record.
  • Be able to operate all critical measurement and test equipment.
  • Be able to interpret and understand blueprints, process routings, B.O.M. and various manuals.
  • Have a working knowledge of computer operation and basic math.
  • Must be willing to take additional training when requested.
    • Blue print reading - std dimensioning (GD& T-Optional).
    • Basic metrology (Calipers, height gage, pin gages, etc)
    • Advanced metrology (Faro Arm, XYZ).
    • Computer requirements include using AS-400, Intranet, Reliance, Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Lab Office
  • Production line and Fabricating Floor presence.
  • Typical manufacturing and office environment conditions.

Base Pay Range:

$24.84 - $29.68
