Field Office Project Manager Assistant Ā 

Scope of Work Ā 

Asplundh Construction, Corp., a national electrical construction company and division of Ā 

the Asplundh Tree Expert Co, desires to engage a Field Office Project Manager Assistant to Ā 

serve as a primary source between our Project Management and our Field Operations in Ā 

Detroit. WeĀ are looking for a candidate who is energetic and demonstrates a work history Ā 

where team goals were achieved through collaborative efforts.Ā The Field Office Project Ā 

Manager Assistant will routinely interact with the field and must be comfortable in the  

environment. TheĀ individual will be responsible for supporting our Project Manager, Ā 

Supervisors, and Regional Manager and will report directly to our Project Manager assigned Ā 

to the Detroit Edison project. Ā

Weekly reporting associated with Detroit Edison Ā 

Updating job within HCSS tracking tool Ā 

Project / WO Tracking Ā 

Schedule Updates Ā 

Smartsheet Updates / Performance Metrix / Tracking Ā

The intent will be to work a 40-hour work week though extended hours may be Ā 

necessary based on project demands. The monthly schedule will allow for flexibility Ā 

in the engagement.Ā The Field Office Project Manager Assistant will be compensated Ā 

on an hourly basis. Ā

Performs other duties as required. Ā 

Additional Guidelines: Ā 

Asplundh Construction will provide a company owned laptop for use during this Ā 

engagement. The laptop will be configured to connect to the company server or  

VPN. AsplundhĀ Construction will provide a cell phone for company use only. Ā 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a defined knowledge of the Detroit Edison Spec Book and Units  

Must have a college degree in construction management, engineering, or other Ā 

related areas or equivalent business experience Ā

Feels comfortable making arithmetic calculations and working with small letters Ā 

and numbers Ā 

•

Has strong analytical skills and a high degree of number acuity Ā 

Effectively communicates both in written and verbal form Ā 

Is intermediate or advanced in Microsoft Excel, experience in Smartsheet or a Ā 

similar project scheduling tool is a plus Ā 

•

Ability to interact in person or via phone will all levels of our organization and the Ā 

customer, from company personnel and leadership to customer administrative Ā 

positions and management Ā

Able to analyze large volume of data and perform metrics analysis Ā 

Must be able to wear PPE as necessary. Ā 

Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day. Ā 

Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work Ā 

assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold. Ā

Must be able to traverse various terrains. Ā 

Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job Ā 

instructions/information. Ā

Must be able to communicate with others. Ā

Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks. Ā 

Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis, Ā 

and up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis. Ā

Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard Ā 

eight- or ten-hour day.Ā Must be able to work long hours and overtime during Ā 

emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.Ā Subject to call out work). Ā

Must have knowledge of heavy equipment. Ā 

Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the Ā 

appropriate equipment and tools. Ā

Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment. Ā 

You must have transportation to and from the show up location. Ā 

Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work. Ā 

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ā 

Must be able to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR). Ā 

Must have a valid driver’s license. Ā
