What You'll Do:

Perform quality control testing on aggregates produced at various sites by testing the moisture content, minus #200 sieve and gradations of those materials to ensure they meet all corresponding specifications. Report test results to Quality Manager and Operations staff in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance

  • Record and report test results to your supervisor and operations

  • Required to keep a “daily journal” and fill out “Dakota Aggregates sample reports” for each sample taken

  • Responsible for maintaining your own testing equipment, including cleaning and proper calibration

  • Must present yourself in a professional manner as stated in the Dakota Aggregate Employee Handbook. Behavior is to be professional and business like.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle

  • Must be proficient with computers, smart phones, data entry and Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to discuss technical and logistical aspects of aggregate quality, production and delivery

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory, Technical School graduate or

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Experience in construction industry

  • Good English oral/written communication skills

  • Ability to use a scientific calculator

  • Capable of making quick and logical decisions in a fast-paced/stressful environment

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • MNDOT Aggregate Production I preferred

  • MSHA certification preferred

  • Able to lift 50–100 pounds

  • Able to push a loaded wheel barrel

  • Able to work on uneven ground at job sites

  • Ability to work at aggregate production facilities and laboratories

  • Subject to loud noise, dust and dirt

  • Subject to adverse weather conditions such as hot, cold, windy, wet, etc.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
