Job Overview
The Aide Bilingual Early Literacy Center will assist the classroom co-teachers in performing a variety of instructional tasks to support bilingual students. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the EL specialist, building administrator, and appropriate supervisor.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional Support

  • Perform instructional in-class support activities with Language E P (bilingual and ESL) students with individualized and small group instructional support in small groups as directed by the classroom co-teachers and the ESL teacher
  • Provide vocabulary support to English language learner in the general education classroom setting
  • Assist in administering assessments for the identification and program monitoring of English language learners
Campus Support
  • Assist in supervision of students
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required while maintaining confidentiality of student information.
  • Attend meetings and district trainings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 48 college hours or passing score on the Para Professional Assessment of Knowledge
  • Texas Educational Aide Certification preferred or will be required to obtain once hired
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English and Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal skills
