Quality Supervisor

The role of Quality Assurance/EH&S Supervisor is for our Purina Animal Nutrition manufacturing facilities. This position gives you the opportunity to be the head of all our quality programs, ensuring safe animal feed is produced in a manufacturing environment. This position leads technical and cultural change in safety, environmental and resource conservation.  Participates in design, development, & implementation of facility safety, health, & environmental programs & procedures to safeguard employees and ensure the facility is compliant with Land O’ Lakes EHS standards and all Federal, State, & Local safety/environmental regulations. You will be an active contributing member of the PSM Team and will implement certain elements such as training, contractor safety, emergency response, investigations of accidents, and others as directed.
 

You will report directly to the Plant Manager. Our QA practices are housed in our QMS (Quality Management System). Following these practices, you will be able to implement new policies as regulations change as well as maintain existing practices. You will also interact with the production staff, providing coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and other regulatory initiatives. You will also lead continuous improvement projects and provide root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve issues.

Experience-Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance in feed, food, or related fields of operation.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements to include HACCP, GMP's.
  • Possess integrity in products, processes, and relationships.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal/training/coaching skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical problem solving/root cause analysis.
  • Ability to be insightful and act strategically and tactically.
  • Knowledge of FDA and other applicable regulatory agencies SOP's preferred

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to corporate wide EHS initiatives or projects.
  • Develop and implement site specific Safety Programs:
  • Identifying Safety Hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine OSHA/EHS Safety Standards inspections and facilitate safety meetings.
  • Lead incident investigations maintain records of incidents (near miss, first aid, recordable, etc.) and enter them into the EHS website. 
  • Training:  Prepare, schedule, track, and present OSHA and EHS Program training including room setup, attendance sheets, etc. 
  • Develop and Lead Plant resource conservation programs in water, wastewater, energy and recycling.

Salary: $69,040 - $103,560

In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges
