As a Manufacturing Supervisor at FW Murphy, you will be responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved. This role partners closely with Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality to maintain efficient workflow, meet customer requirements, and resolve production issues. The supervisor provides leadership through employee coaching, performance management, scheduling, and timekeeping oversight while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate with Production Planning to ensure production schedules are executed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure materials are available and delivered to production on time.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Monitor daily production performance, identify issues, and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate employees to promote accountability and high performance.
  • Maintain accurate employee timekeeping and attendance records.
  • Foster a safe, productive, and continuous improvement-focused work environment.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Industrial or Electrical Engineering OR;
  • 5 or more years of experience as a supervisor in lieu of degree

Experience

  • Strong and proactive supervisory and communication skills.
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated experience as a supervisor in manufacturing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Skills & Abilities

 Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently

  • ADP, Workday or other payroll and HRIS systems
  • Lean Tools, 5S, Gemba, LSW, Kaizen, etc.
  • Knowledge of electrical components
  • Blueprints and diagrams 
  • Microsoft intermediate level
  • Bilingual – Spanish is a plus

Position Type, Schedule, and Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Lifting and Carrying

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs. (sometimes more, depending on the job)
  • The task repeats 6 -7 times per 8-hour shift

Standing and Walking

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8 -12 hours)
  • Frequent walking throughout the floor to clean, allocate, receive, pack /unpack materials and parts

Bending, Stooping, and Reaching

  • Regularly need to bend, twist, kneel, or squat
  • Frequently reaching above the shoulders or below the waist

Manual Dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with hands, such as assembling small parts, packing, or sorting
  • Use of small hand tools, requiring fine motor skills

Vision and Hearing

  • Visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) to read labels, gauges, blueprints, or assembly instructions

Work Environment

  • Tolerance for light noise, dust, light, and light soldering smoke
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts (Must be able to wear PPE – Steel-toed Shoes, Safety Glasses, protective gloves, and Electrostatic Control Coat
  • Ability to use pallet jacks, wrapping machines, and forklift (when applicable)
