Position Summary

We are currently looking for a 1st & 2nd shift Spot Welder with set-up experience to join our growing Roseville, MN location. If you are experienced in sheet metal fabrication, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Use Spot Welding equipment; apply two shaped copper alloy electrodes to concentrate welding current into a small "spot" and to simultaneously clamp the sheets together. Force a large current through the spot to melt the metal and form the weld.
  • Install proper electrodes on the spot-welding machine.
  • Adjusts control for proper heat, pressure settings, and timing of current.
  • Use the proper amount of heat to match the sheet's material properties, thickness, and type of electrodes.
  • Work from routings, prints, or instructions.
  • Inspect work using a micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Examines welded components for any defects.
  • Deliver the first piece to inspection for verification of dimensions and weld accuracy.
  • Responsible for producing the highest level of quality, utilizing control plans, customer drawings, and appropriate work instructions.
  • Supervising and identifying any fault in operating the equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying the supervisors

  

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in Spot Welding preferred
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with the leadership team
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
  • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine, and move from one workstation to another, alternately sitting and standing
