Position Summary

The COTA works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and established treatment plans. This role supports rehabilitation goals through therapeutic interventions, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the OT

• Document daily treatments and weekly progress notes per state and payer requirements

• Communicate patient progress and concerns with the OT and interdisciplinary team

• Assist with caregiver and staff education to support continuity of care

• Participate in discharge planning and maintenance programs

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized treatment areas

• Support restorative programs and in-service education as needed

Qualifications

• Current, active COTA license in the State of California

• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)

• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and best clinical practices
