 We are seeking a flexible 1st shift or 2nd shift General Laborer - Breakout Operator in our Fabrication Department. This position will assist in Laser Forming, Press Brake Forming, and other areas. Position Summary

To remove laser or turret parts from sheets of metal, deburring as necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Break out metal parts from Laser forms 
  • Load and unload parts from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Clean the production area by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Grinds out burrs and sharp edges, using a portable grinder, speed lathe, and polishing jack.
  • Lifts, positions, and secures work pieces between machine dies, using manual effort, crane, and/or sledge.
  • Scrape waste material from the machine and recycle metals.
  • Read and interpret gauges.
  • Record data and complete all paperwork accordingly.
  • Doing inventory by counting and sorting parts or materials per job work orders and instructions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing/Sheet Metal Fabrication experience preferred.
  • Perform repetitive work for 10 hours per day, including weekends.
  • Perform basic math calculations (Adding, Subtracting, Dividing, and Multiplying).
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
