Fleet Service Advisor

 

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Position Summary

Saber Power Services is seeking a Fleet Service Advisor to support the maintenance, repair, and overall readiness of the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position serves as the primary point of contact between field personnel, fleet operations, repair facilities, vendors, and management to ensure vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and available when needed.


The Fleet Service Advisor will coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, service appointments, and related documentation while monitoring costs and helping minimize equipment downtime. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple service needs in a fast-paced environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs for company vehicles and fleet equipment. 
  • Serve as a primary contact for employees regarding vehicle maintenance and service needs. 
  • Schedule service appointments with dealerships, repair shops, and other vendors. 
  • Monitor vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules and ensure services are completed on time. 
  • Track work orders, repair costs, parts, invoices, and maintenance records. 
  • Review service recommendations and obtain appropriate approvals before repairs are completed. 
  • Coordinate vehicle transportation, towing, and recovery when necessary. 
  • Communicate repair status and expected completion dates to employees and management. 
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including mileage, service history, registration, inspections, and warranty information. 
  • Assist with identifying recurring maintenance issues and opportunities to reduce fleet costs and downtime. 
  • Work with Fleet and Operations management to coordinate vehicle assignments and availability. 
  • Ensure vehicles meet company safety requirements and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist with new vehicle and equipment preparation, including inspections, decals, accessories, and documentation. 
  • Support the replacement and disposal process for aging or unreliable fleet assets. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with service providers and negotiate service timelines and costs when appropriate. 
  • Prepare reports related to fleet maintenance, costs, downtime, and utilization. 
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management. 

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 2+ years of experience in fleet management, automotive service advising, equipment maintenance, or a related field preferred. 
  • Experience coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance is highly preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems, preventive maintenance, and repair processes. 
  • Experience working with fleet management or maintenance tracking software is a plus. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to manage multiple vehicles, repairs, and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established guidelines. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
