Environment of Care Supervisor

Location: St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center – A Member of Catholic Health

As the Environment of Care Supervisor, you will oversee programs that support regulatory compliance, life safety, emergency management, and workplace safety while helping ensure the highest standards of care throughout the organization.


Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the hospital's Safety Officer and Emergency Management Program Coordinator
  • Monitor compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, NFPA Life Safety Code, and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct Environment of Care, Life Safety, Emergency Management, Infection Prevention, and safety compliance rounds and audits
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) operations
  • Lead Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management committees and document meeting outcomes
  • Develop corrective action plans and monitor regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Security, Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, Risk Management, Nursing, and other departments
  • Manage chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and workplace safety programs
  • Analyze compliance data, identify trends, and prepare internal audit reports
  • Educate staff on safety, life safety, emergency management, and regulatory requirements
  • Support accreditation surveys and coordinate responses to Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory inspections

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Environment of Care, Life Safety, Emergency Management, or a related healthcare field
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management standards
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and OSHA regulations
  • Experience participating in Joint Commission, CMS, or state regulatory surveys preferred
  • FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications required
  • HICS training or experience preferred
  • CHSP, CHEP, OSHA 30-Hour, and Hazardous Materials Operations certifications preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Zoom, and database management systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, and prolonged standing or sitting

Salary Range

USD $43.30 - USD $57.37 /Hr.
