Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Perform ongoing assessment of airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, pain, and vital signs.
- Closely monitor patients for post-anesthesia complications and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Manage postoperative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other common recovery-related symptoms.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
- Monitor oxygenation and respiratory status and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments,interventions, and patient responses.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Determine readiness for transfer or discharge according to established clinical criteria and facility policies.
- Provide patients and families with education regarding postoperative care, medications, safety, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in emergency response and management of patients experiencing acute deterioration.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient-care environment.
- Demonstrate adherence to infection prevention, medication safety, and patient safety standards.
- Requirements
- Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Graduate of an accredited BSN nursing program
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- PACU, ICU, ED, OR, or other critical-care experience.
- PALS certification, when applicable.
- Previous experience caring for patients recovering from anesthesia.
Salary Range
USD $54.48 - USD $82.03 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
