Description

  

The Machine Operator I (Production Associate) performs entry-level manufacturing tasks in support of daily production operations. This role focuses on safe equipment operation, material handling, quality standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment under close supervision.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform foundational production tasks including grinding, weighing, mixing, and staging raw materials in accordance with work instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Operate assigned production equipment such as grinders, mixers, fillers, conveyors, and packaging systems under supervision.
  • Assemble packaging materials, apply labels as required, and safely stack finished goods onto pallets.
  • Visually inspect products during assigned tasks to ensure they meet basic quality standards; promptly report defects or irregularities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, workstations, and common areas to support safety and efficiency.
  • Participate  in routine cleaning, wash-downs, and basic housekeeping tasks at the end of shifts or between production runs.
  • Follow daily production schedules and meet assigned output expectations while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and training expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions from supervisors  and experienced operators.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and plant operations.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • The associate will work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial vehicles, noise, dust, temperature variations (including cold and heat), and work materials. The associate is required to use designated personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety shoes, high visibility apparel, hearing protection, gloves, and eye protection, where mandatory and in accordance with company safety policies.
  • The associate must be able to see, hear, and communicate effectively in order to safely perform job duties. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, particularly in an active industrial environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and move throughout the facility. The associate frequently uses hands and fingers to handle, grasp, touch, feel, and manipulate objects, and regularly reaches with hands and arms.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable  accommodation, and in accordance with proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.
  • The associate must be able to work safely at all times, maintain awareness of surroundings, follow all safety procedures, and comply with OSHA and company safety standards. This includes the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to safety hazards, alarms, and emergency situations.
