Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Corporate Headquarters - Rothschild, WI 54474JOB SUMMARY   This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The Environmental Specialist supports sustainability initiatives, environmental permitting, waste management programs, pollution prevention efforts, and environmental reporting activities. This role collaborates with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to promote environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, all in support of the company’s objectives.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  Lead, support, and execute environmental compliance initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and company standards.  Monitor compliance with air, water, stormwater, waste, hazardous materials, and other environmental permits and requirements.  Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and assessments to identify risks and drive corrective actions.  Maintain environmental records, permits, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.  Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.  Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities, including storage, labeling, transportation, and disposal.  Investigate environmental incidents, spills, or non-compliance issues and assist with corrective and preventive actions.  Support pollution prevention, sustainability, recycling, and waste reduction initiatives.  Provide environmental compliance training and guidance to employees and supervisors.  Assist with environmental permitting activities and regulatory agency inspections.  Evaluate environmental performance metrics and recommend process improvements.  Partner with cross-functional teams to support environmental objectives, capital projects, and operational changes.  Monitor changes in environmental regulations and communicate their impacts to the organization.  Actively participate in the improvement and support of the safety program in the Manufacturing Operations.  Execute company policies that align with strong core values and organizational objectives.  Perform other duties as assigned.      QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED  Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.  Three to five years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.  Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and DNR regulations.  Experience with environmental permitting, inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.  Knowledge of hazardous waste management and environmental recordkeeping practices.  Experience with sustainability reporting and environmental data management systems.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.  Solid core values and commitment to environmental stewardship.    PREFERRED  Advanced knowledge of wastewater, air emissions, and stormwater compliance programs.  Diverse experience conducting environmental training and regulatory audits.  Experience in manufacturing, concrete products, construction materials, or industrial operations.  OSHA 30 certification.  Safety program experience in a manufacturing setting.  Advanced environmental or safety certifications.    Wausau Tile is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Affirmative Action Plan Employer. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.  Qualifications
