The Production Supervisor will directly supervise manufacturing operations on 2ndshift. Support corporate net sales objectives by striving to continually meet or exceed production plans, schedule attainment metrics, productivity goals, and other key performance indicators while maintaining superior product quality, a safe work environment, and employee relations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Direct supervision of hourly production team members.

  • Set performance expectations, ensure team has the equipment and training to complete their tasks, monitor work performance results and issue corrective actions as necessary.

  • Execute the daily production plan for the respective area of responsibility.

  • Monitor daily variance to plan, recommend capacity adjustments (overtime, flex labor, etc.) to execute schedule.

  • Promote collaborative effort, team member engagement, autonomy, partnership decision making that aligns with our employer of choice initiatives.

  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly communications to team members.

  • Collaborate with engineering on troubleshooting shop floor challenges, special design requested orders and provide new product support as needed.

  • Conduct interviews and help ensure successful onboarding and training plans.

  • Achieve productivity goals and make necessary staffing adjustments to maximize efficiency.

  • Coordinate activities among various internal departments that can affect the production process (i.e. scheduling, engineering, production management, shipping, inventory control, sales and purchasing).

  • Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities that enhance our key performance indicators, improve safety culture and/or advance our team member relations. Participate and assist in activities relating to the 5S and Safety Teams when necessary.

  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel on the upkeep and repair of tools and machinery to maximize operating capacity and longevity.

  • Work with Material Specialist to ensure inventory is properly managed and kept accurate. Provide guidance and support in determining stocking requirements, cycle counting activities and timely receipt of manufactured and purchased part inventory.

  • Develop cross-training plans and encourage continued development of our team members.

  • Perform monthly safety training for the area of responsibility, ensure team members follow necessary safety guidelines, and maintain necessary safety records.

  • Utilize ERP, attendance, and other Greenheck systems to support labor and manufacturing processes.

  • Prepare and conduct performance reviews as necessary.

  • Maintain good working knowledge of current labor agreement (where applicable) and any applicable government regulations.

 

What you should have:

  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience required.

  • 1-2 years of relevant leadership experience required.

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.

  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field of study preferred.

  • Excel experience in pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred.

  • SAP experience preferred.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The person is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Occasional mobility required to attend in-person meetings and complete various office tasks.  Work may be performed in company’s setting, home, or hybrid.
