RRC CORE VALUES Must understand and personify RRC’s core values: Client Satisfaction – understands the goal of always exceeding our client’s expectations Employee Happiness – able to work well with others, communicate clearly with coworkers, promote a positive work environment, and mediate conflicts between team members Quality Work - able to take ownership, work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously Above and Beyond - versatile, flexible, able to anticipate the needs of the company, take the initiative, and willing to go out of your way to assist others ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support the engineering and design of high-voltage substation Protection & Control systems for AIS and GIS substations Prepare and Review protection and control design drawings including single lines, three lines, DC schematics, communication schematics and wiring Prepare and review engineering deliverables Ensure work complies with applicable industry standards including IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, and client-specific requirements Support project planning and execution by contributing to schedules, deliverables, and technical coordination Develop relay settings and protection philosophy Provide detailed QA/QC for P&C design packages. Provide training to junior P&C engineers and designers Attending FAT, inspections, and providing site support as required. Assist with utility coordination and interconnection processes for renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field required Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain 5+ years of experience in power system engineering, substation protection and controls, transmission planning, or renewable energy integration Experience with high-voltage substation P&C design including relays, batteries, chargers, SCADA interfaces, and control panels Familiarity with power system analysis software such as PSSE, ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, or similar tools Experience performing power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis Working knowledge of industry standards including IEEE, NERC, NEC, and NESC Experience supporting utility coordination and interconnection processes for energy projects preferred Experience with networking devices and communication configuration Experience with ASPEN Experience with relay settings Ability to manage technical deliverables while supporting project schedules and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and technical documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook BENEFITS RRC is committed to investing in talented employees because we recognize that healthy, happy employees provide the best path to sustaining a successful business.
