Description

A Shipping & Receiving Lead assigns, supervises, plans, and reviews, the work of the shipping and receiving team including materials, cost, and time estimations as directed by the Assembly and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. The Shipping & Receiving Lead at NPSG Global works in a collaborative, supportive, and fast-moving warehouse environment where safety and quality are of the highest priority.

Responsibilities:?

  • Direct all team activities related to the assigned shipping workcenter.
  • Performs manual work 50-70% of the time.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying shipping instructions, parts list, and materials.
  • Communicate shipping instructions to team members.
  • Assign shift priorities to the team.
  • Monitor and coach team on shipping requirements for work orders.
  • Responsible for enforcing all NPSG policies and procedures including, safety, housekeeping, attendance, quality, and administration.
  • Promotes and maintains 7S in assigned workspace.
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.?
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.?
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices.?
  • Communicate with vendors; contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified.?
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.?
  • Handle all aspects of the inbound process from receipts to directing the put-aways and checking contents to ensure they match the orders.?
  • Audit receipts and report any discrepancies.?
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Procurement Team on inbound and outbound purchased materials.
  • Completes local deliveries as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work 40-50+ hour work weeks, dependent on production needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.?

Requirements

  • Good work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to perform repetitive tasks for team success.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to customer requirements and changing environment.

  • Keen eye for detail.?
  • Ability to research information concerning OS&D’s.?
  • Possess basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.?
  • Possess adequate clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers.?
  • Ability to work in a team environment as a self-motivated, collaborative team player, with minimal supervision.?
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.?

Skills & Education/Experience:

  • Flexible and able to adjust to customer requirements and changing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with high noise levels and exposure to dust, heat, and cold.
  • Prolonged periods performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must have good manual dexterity in order to assemble parts as directed.
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination.
  • Must wear steel-toed shoes.
  • Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
  • Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 40 to 50 pounds consecutively.
