This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:
- Designs and develops key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC).
- Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.
- Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces.
- Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.
- Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be fulfilled at either the Principal Systems Engineer (T-03) level or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T-04) level
- Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited university plus 5 years related experience OR Master's Degree plus 3 years related experience.
- Senior Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited university plus 8 years related experience OR Master's Degree plus 6 years related experience.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronics design and verification
- Experience defining hardware/software and hardware/hardware interfaces
- Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans.
- Experience with engineering requirements management tools (i.e. DOORS).
- Experience working on an agile team.
- Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety.
- Strong experience in system engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
