As a Mechanical Design Engineer supporting the AVE Mechanical Design Integration (MDI) team, you will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, reviewing designs, and integrating with other NG integrated product teams to ensure adherence to, and implementation of requirements. You will actively participate in design reviews, research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are critical to being successful in this position.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This position can be filled as a Principal Engineer (level 3) or a Sr Principal Engineer (level 4)

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Mechanical Engineer (level 3) : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field and 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant experience
Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer (level 4): Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field and 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience
US Citizen
Active or current Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years at time of application
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Ability to understand and interpret requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
