Inventory Control Coordinator

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Inventory Specialist/Cycle Counter to join our Packaging Solutions plant in Rural Hall, NC. This role is critical to ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, and support for production and warehouse operations.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Logistics Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory processes 
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in production and warehouse systems 
• Execute end-of-run procedures, including counts, reconciliations, and adjustments 
• Ensure finished goods are properly staged and returned to warehouse locations 
• Coordinate product disposal activities as directed 
• Monitor and ensure timely put-away of raw materials and finished goods 
• Track inventory movement and maintain accurate system data 
• Conduct location audits and resolve missing or misplaced inventory 
• Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding order status and special requirements 
• Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, warehouse, and customer service teams 
• Perform additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision 
• Strong math skills and high attention to detail 
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities 
• Proficiency in inventory systems and general computer applications 
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to retain technical information 
• Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented 
• Working knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and material flow processes
