This role is necessary to carry out the design or plan protocol for equipment or processes in order to produce products that meet internal and external safety and quality requirements.
This function requires a background in engineering, the ability to work well on a team, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Manufacturing Engineer designs and optimizes production processes to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining strict quality, regulatory, and safety standards. This role involves evaluating manufacturing procedures, resolving production delays, and ensuring equipment reliability through coordinated maintenance and procedure compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sustaining
- Support and develop manufacturing processes
- Assist production with resolving issues related to setup, tooling, materials, and tolerances
- Optimize production processes using statistical tools, feedback from subject matter experts, and historical data
- Review internal and external change proposals for manufacturing processes
- Consult with customers and suppliers to resolve manufacturing concerns
- Ensure compliance with QMS, FDA, and ISO 13485 requirements
New Product Development (NPD)
- Develop manufacturing processes for NPD prototypes
- Translate customer design requirements into manufacturing specifications
- Generate reports and documentation to satisfy customer requirements
Validations
- Develop validation plans for equipment and processes
- Execute EIQs, EOQs, and Process OQPQs
- Implement controls and methods to maintain validations
- Conduct customer validation activities and prepare reports
Quality
- Review and disposition nonconforming product in MRB with QA
- Address quality-related concerns for products and processes
- Engage with cross-functional teams on NCRs and CAPAs
- Support process deviations, corrective actions, and customer complaints
Required Education:
- Engineering Degree
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, plus at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Associate鈥檚 degree in engineering, plus at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Master鈥檚 degree in engineering or manufacturing preferred
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with stainless steel medical device manufacturing processes, such as turning, milling, grinding, laser welding, laser cutting, passivating, and electropolishing,
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, inspection metrology, and statistical techniques
- Strong understanding of mechanical blueprints and GD&T
- Skills desired in Solidworks/CAD, CNC programming, and Minitab
- Knowledge/training desired in project management, lean manufacturing, and internal auditing

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
