Position Summary

The Demographer Associate Support Tech role requires an individual who can multi-task,

prioritize, meet deadlines, and has strong technical and communication abilities. This position is

responsible for the entry of patient demographic information, assist coding department with

varying task not related to coding. This position is extremely vital to the start of the revenue

cycle.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares and sorts patient requisitions and identified and interprets data to be entered into the practice management system
  2. Perform repetitious task
  3. Excellent organization skills with attention to detail required
  4. Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  6. Precise and accurate entry of information
  7. Demonstrates professional demeanor in appearance and behavior in all work-related interactions
  8. Observes principles of data security and patient confidentiality. Maintain ethical standards in the performance of duties and in interactions with patients, coworkers and health care professionals.
  9. Pull electronic payment information, daily
  10. Complete Medicaid Extension of Benefit requests via web portal
  11. File Medicaid Secondary claims via web portal
  12. Answer telephone
  13. All other duties assigned by the supervisor

Desired Professional Skills and Experience

  1. Knowledge of clerical procedures.
  2. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  3. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  4. Skill in using computer programs and applications.
  5. Skill in typing 45 WPM.
  6. Ability to listen, read, understand, and follow oral, and written instruction.
  7. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
  8. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  9. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees and clients
