Custodian I

Campbell County is currently seeking a full-time Custodian I to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. This position offers full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS).  Campbell County has a generous Vacation and Leave Plan including Holidays, Personal Days, Floating Holidays and Community Service Leave to use.

Position will be open till filled.

Custodian I

FLSA:    Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Staff as assigned

Staff Supervisory Responsibility:  No

General Service Areas/Conditions:  Work is performed both indoors and outdoors where uncomfortable conditions exist.  Work involves minimal physical strain.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Makes a daily difference in the Campbell County organization and locality through: hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement and accountability.  

Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:

• Sweeps, mops floor;
• Vacuums carpet;
• Cleans bathrooms and cares for toiletries;
• Cleans windows inside and outside;
• Dusts;
• Strips and waxes floors;
• And other cleaning tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Two years of related experience
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License and insurable under County’s Policy.
• Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.

Core Skill Sets:

• Knowledge of general commercial cleaning methods.  Good interpersonal skills for interaction with building occupants;
• Participation in in-house training programs;
• Participation in other outside training as available;
• Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county’s adopted software platform.
