How you’ll contribute 

A Supply Chain Coordinator will excel in this role by: 

  • Coordinating daily supply chain operations to ensure clinical and support departments have the supplies, equipment, and materials they need to provide safe, uninterrupted patient care.
  • Managing purchasing and inventory activities, including ordering stock, maintaining PAR levels, conducting cycle and year-end inventories, monitoring backorders and expirations, and ensuring appropriate product availability.
  • Optimizing supply utilization and costs through effective use of MMIS/SMART systems, accurate item master maintenance, usage tracking, contract compliance, and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
  • Building strong vendor and supplier relationships by researching products, obtaining pricing and samples, resolving purchasing discrepancies, following up on backorders, and supporting contract negotiations and compliance.
  • Supporting product evaluation and standardization by researching supplies and equipment and partnering with department leaders to identify quality, cost-effective products that meet clinical and operational needs.
  • Maintaining regulatory, safety, and quality standards by supporting product recalls, required documentation and logs, and compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, infection control, emergency management, and life safety requirements.
  • Collaborating across the organization with nursing, physicians, clinical leaders, administration, and support departments to resolve supply challenges, support new initiatives, and continuously improve materials management processes.

What we’re looking for  

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in supply chain, business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, or a related field; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Technology Skills: Comfortable using computers and business software; experience with MMIS, ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clinical teams, physicians, vendors, and hospital leadership.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage purchasing, inventory, product information, pricing, and multiple priorities accurately.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain positive, responsive, and effective in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Collaboration & Integrity: Demonstrates initiative, integrity, accountability, and a team-focused approach while building strong working relationships across departments and supporting a culture of patient safety and service excellence.
