Job DetailsJob Location: 2020 J Street - Sacramento, CA 95814Salary Range: $67,245.20 - $90,978.80 SalaryPosition Summary: The Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities related to the maintenance of the general ledger. Essential Functions: Assists with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities Assists with review/oversight activities relating to the general ledger and accounting records Assists with running ad-hoc reports, create new accounting templates Reconciles balance sheet accounts, bank statement, credit cards monthly Performs monthly variance analysis and resolves any discrepancies identified Collaborates with auditors as necessary Backfills for AP/AR processing Identifies opportunities to streamline processes to increase timeliness, efficiency and improve the accuracy of financial reporting. Provides support for the accounting of fixed assets Supports accounting for grants, including salary allocations, generating invoices on a timely basis as required, generating monthly grant financial reports, working with grant program managers as needed. Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to the position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA, SCAR reporting, etc. Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams. Works with team members proactively to support quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals for the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.  At all times demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and the community. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in accounting for a non-profit organization. Knowledge of accounting principles, theories, methods, concepts and techniques. Knowledge of grant management, including budgets, salary allocations, modifications and monthly financial reporting. Experience with Abila MIP. Knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of the diverse AI/AN community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
