Overview
SUMMARY
The Foodservice Sales Developer is designated as the primary driver of foodservice and coffee sales within their assigned territory. Their responsibilities are to develop and grow the foodservice and coffee business by selling foodservice programs, QSR concepts, and new coffee programs, as well as identifying and closing key foodservice and coffee opportunities within their region. This role requires a consultative sales approach focused on helping customers build profitable foodservice programs through the right combination of menu strategy, equipment solutions, and product selection. FSDs must be driven to achieve sales goals set by management while developing a partnership with each customer through a plan that supports mutually profitable growth and promotes the need to become the primary foodservice and coffee supplier in each account.Â

This territory encompasses Sierra Nevada Tahoe, Rio Vista to South Sacramento to Elk Grove, and Lodi, CA.

Essential Job Functions
Â
- Responsible for developing and executing a strategic territory plan that drives growth in foodservice and beverage programs while increasing overall profitability.
- Accountable for achieving territory sales goals including new foodservice program installations, coffee program installations, and weekly gross profit targets.
- Lead the successful launch of new foodservice and coffee programs including equipment coordination, product setup, and customer training.
- Open new foodservice programs and QSR concepts that meet or exceed minimum weekly gross profit contribution targets.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline, opportunity tracking, and customer activity documentation within company Laser list.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, including consulting with customers on menu development, equipment solutions, food safety, labor efficiency, and profitability within their foodservice programs.
- Effective and timely communication with Regional Sales Managers, Territory Sales Managers, and Foodservice Sales Managers for respective area
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent and sell Harbor programs professionally and effectively.
- Lead growth of Harbor’s foodservice and beverage programs within assigned accounts.
- Set targets for new customers, QSR and Java acquisitions and implement strategy to secure this business. Â
- Work with Territory Sales Managers to ensure that regional sales targets are met.
- Train Territory Sales Managers on foodservice requirements to ensure they can represent and sell the core business.
- Make appointments with current and prospective customers.
- Must be able to prepare and deliver verbal sales presentations to all existing and prospective customers.
- Ability to persuade and influence others effectively, in a tactful and professional manner.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to excel with minimal supervision.
- Maintain an accurate call list of accounts with details for required action, contact information and opportunities.
- Meet monthly with Regional Sales Manager to discuss foodservice sales performance objectives.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Procurement, Category Management, Marketing, and Operations to ensure successful program launches, product availability and ongoing customer success.
- Understand and develop new foodservice business outside of the C-store channel.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Position requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Inclusive of the ability to motivate sales and ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Effective and proven negotiation skills are a must and ability to understand the elements of consistent and viable revenue production.
- Must have effective presentation skills, including the ability to use PowerPoint.
- The position requires the ability to conduct business while on the road using mobile technology.
- Position requires travel, primarily in assigned region with roughly 20% overnight. (1 day a week on average).
- Must have strong work ethic and be able to work beyond a 40 hr week as business needs dictate.
- Passion for the foodservice industry with awareness of emerging trends and customer needs.

Qualifications
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ outside sales in a related industry which highlights experience with a proven and
- Must be willing to show proven results from past employment opportunities.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable and presentable transportation and required insurance.
