Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

  • Performs all patient care, diagnostic, therapeutic, and quality control procedures as authorized by license under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine physicians. 
  • Provides the department/hospital staff and physicians with leadership to ensure timely procedure staging and integration
  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, department and hospital staff demonstrating a high level of customer service and professionalism. 
  • Actively participates in maintaining department neatness. Monitors quantity of supplies to ensure patient procedures can be performed as requested without delay. Maintains proper handling, storage and disposal of radioactive materials according to RML and hospital safety protocols. Measured by observation and no more than 1-2 formal complaints per year.
  • Verifies physician's orders, clinical indications, correct radiopharmaceutical, correct dose activity, time of administration, required consent forms.
