Job Description: Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time/Full-Time - Outpatient / Peripheral Vascular Support)

Position Summary

TLC Vascular is seeking an experienced and committed Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient team with an emphasis on peripheral vascular disease (PVD) management and procedural support. The NP will provide advanced cardiovascular care, assist with vascular evaluations, and support pre- and post-procedure workflows for outpatient peripheral vascular interventions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary vascular team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular and peripheral vascular assessments, including history, physical examination, and diagnostic interpretation.
  • Manage patients with chronic cardiac and vascular conditions such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), chronic venous insufficiency, hypertension, and coronary artery disease.
  • Support the peripheral vascular program through:
    • Pre-procedure evaluations and patient optimization
    • Post-procedure assessments, recovery monitoring, and follow-up care
    • Education on procedure expectations, wound care, and lifestyle modifications
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs, vascular ultrasounds, ankle-brachial index (ABI) studies, echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory results within California NP scope of practice.
  • Assist with triage of vascular patients and coordination of procedure scheduling.
  • Provide medication management, including anticoagulation review, antiplatelet therapy, and vascular-specific treatment plans.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians in compliance with California standardized procedures.
  • Coordinate referrals to vascular surgery, wound care, or advanced imaging as needed.
  • Accurately document all patient encounters and care plans in the EHR.
  • Participate in quality initiatives related to vascular outcomes, patient flow, and procedure efficiency.
  • Provide Nursing Home Care (Travel Required)

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Active, unrestricted California RN license and California Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Valid California NP Furnishing Number and DEA registration (or eligibility).
  • National Board Certification as AGACNP, FNP, ANP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in cardiology, vascular medicine, interventional radiology, or peripheral vascular procedures preferred.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Work Schedule

  • Part-time schedule (with Full-Time option available); specific days/hours determined by clinic and procedure volumes.
  • No on-call, nights, or inpatient responsibilities unless otherwise specified.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience assisting or supporting peripheral vascular procedures (e.g., angiograms, atherectomy, angioplasty).
  • Familiarity with vascular imaging, PAD management protocols, and wound care basics.
  • Ability to educate patients on vascular health, smoking cessation, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes.
  • EHR proficiency and comfort managing high-volume patient flow.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and patient interaction required.
  • Ability to assist with patient positioning and procedural preparation.
  • Work performed primarily in an outpatient clinic and vascular procedure environment.
