Description

Job Summary: Greater Sacramento Surgery Center is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Sacramento with 6 operating rooms. GSSC specializes in Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, GYN, Spine, ENT, GI, Pain, and Plastic surgery. The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for surgical care through assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care to include safe nursing care from the surgery center. Applies knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Participates in patient and staff education. Demonstrates accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.

Required Responsibilities:

  • Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, board of nursing, federal and local regulations.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all confidential and sensitive communications and information.
  • Maintain required skills competencies including annual education and skills training in a timely manner.

Requirements

Education, Licensure and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent discipline required.
  • Registered California Nursing License Required.
  • Documentation of current BLS/ACLS/PALS
  • 5 years direct nursing operating room experience preferred.
