We are looking for a Rolling Stock/Operations/Financial Analyst Intern. This position will be based at our Sacramento area branch located in California. 


During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Operations Business Controlling where you will learn how about Operations Rolling Stock, the cost drivers for operations, cost center forecasting, and variance / root cause analysis.

A little bit about us


Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.


How does (Operations Business and Factory Controlling) plays into the big picture?


Operations is responsible for manufacturing and delivering safe and reliable rolling stock.  On the commercial / financial side of Operations, this team is responsible for ensuring optimization and controlling of costs and driving performance (through data / root cause analysis and reporting) of efficient and productive hours used to manufacture the vehicles.

 

What your day-to-day will look like:


  • Support with monthly cost center forecasting for operations department
  • Variance analysis on actuals to forecast
  • Report on KPIs (i.e. utilization, headcount)
  • Supporting Business Controlling Manager with costs optimization initiatives

Who Should Apply? 


  • Education/Majors: Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Finance or Accounting with a strong technical or analytical aptitude
  • Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored with authorization
  • Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
  • Industry knowledge and/or interest




You’ll Benefit From
 The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
 Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
