Your Opportunity

Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Mission Critical Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the sector. We are seeking a Project Architect to join our buildings practice.

Our Sacramento/San Francisco office is seeking a Project Architect to support Mission Critical projects. In this role you will work independently and collaboratively through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, cutting-edge designs. Your experience ensures that you are quite familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates and building codes. You will be innovating and creating new prototypes designed with sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, develop and manage integrated work plans, and coordinate with clients, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for small to large projects of high complexity.
  • All of the below are items we would like you to lead, while mentoring others:
  • The technical portion of the project including discipline coordination and providing technical direction to the design team.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
  • Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details.
  • Participate in bidding and negotiation phase and prepares addenda.
  • Lead the construction administration phase with the design team, including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of specs with construction documents.
  • Participate in constructability review.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Strong Revit skills, familiarity with clash coordination strategies a plus.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
