  • The Senior Admission Nurse at VITAS Healthcare will be responsible for training and mentoring new and existing Admission Nurses, as well as participating in leadership roles during on-boarding and clinical workshops.
  • Candidates must possess a current R.N. license in the state where VITAS operates and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in end-of-life care or disease management.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and the role includes documenting and submitting ride reports to the Admissions Manager.

In addition to responsibilities and requirements outlines in the current Admission Nurse job description, the Senior Admission Nurse will also be responsible for the following:

  • Training and on-going coaching for new and existing Admission Nurses as assigned by the Admissions Manager.
  • Actively participates in a leadership role in on-boarding, admissions, and clinical workshops.
  • Documents and submits ride reports to the Admissions Manager.
  • Mentors the Admissions Nurses, Admissions Liaisons, and/or Long Term Care Liaisons as outlined in the VITAS orientation materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current R.N. license in the state where the VITAS program is located.
  • Previous experience in end of life care and/or disease and symptom management is preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
