You will support the testing and quality assurance activities for the California Air Resources Board's Building Embodied Carbon Reporting Tool. You will help develop and execute test cases, prepare test data, document defects, support user acceptance testing, and confirm that new functionality performs as expected. Your attention to detail and collaborative approach will help the project team deliver a reliable, user-friendly web application.
This is a full-time, RFP proposal-contingent opportunity with an expected award date of late Fall. US Citizen. Green Card Holder or C2C
WORKSITE: Remote - United States; California residency is not required
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Pacific Time; some travel may be required around releases or major project milestones
PAY RATE: $50.00-$55.00/hour W2

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Support test planning and execution for new features, system changes, integrations, and releases.
Develop, maintain, and execute clear test cases, test scenarios, and step-by-step test scripts based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
Prepare and manage test data; document test results and verify expected system behavior.
Log defects with complete reproduction steps, supporting evidence, severity, and business impact; participate in defect review and triage.
Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing and assist business users during user acceptance testing.
Track testing progress, retest resolved defects, maintain requirements traceability, and provide accurate test status and risk reporting.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Entry-to-mid-level experience supporting software testing, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, or a closely related function.
Experience testing web-based applications and creating or executing test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
Experience preparing test data, documenting results, logging defects, supporting defect triage, and performing regression testing.
Familiarity with Agile software delivery and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or a comparable test and defect-management platform is preferred.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, written documentation, communication, organization, and collaboration skills; basic SQL, API testing, or test-automation exposure is a plus but not required.
Ability to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours and disclose any travel limitations; relevant education, testing coursework, or certifications such as ISTQB are preferred but not required.
