We are seeking a motivated IT intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience across cybersecurity compliance, operational technology (OT) modernization, and end-user support. This internship offers exposure to real-world IT infrastructure challenges in a manufacturing environment, with opportunities to work on CMMC compliance initiatives, OT network modernization, and technical support operations.

Key Responsibilities

CMMC Compliance & Security (40%)

  • Assist with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) compliance initiatives and documentation
  • Support backup and decommissioning of legacy Spencer systems and data
  • Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning activities
  • Digitize paper records and maintain organized documentation
  • Help develop and deliver end-user training and security awareness campaigns
  • Identify and coordinate secure destruction of obsolete equipment and records
  • Assist with kiosk deployment and provide end-user training

Operational Technology (OT) Network Modernization (35%)

  • Support modernization of sensors, signals, and networks (DAC, Autoclave, WATLOW systems)
  • Assist with upgrading machining equipment controls (CNC, winders, microscopes, etc.)
  • Contribute to design of OT networked controls and monitoring systems
  • Document processes and help establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Create comprehensive mapping of OT assets and network topology
  • Participate in testing and validation of OT security controls
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and document findings

End-User Support (25%)

  • Receive, respond to, and perform initial triage of user support requests
  • Promote proper ticketing workflow and escalation procedures with end-users
  • Install and configure computers, printers, and peripheral devices
  • Assist with software updates and patch management activities
  • Create and update user guides and knowledge base articles
  • Support specialized projects including vessel pressure testing and camera systems
