Position: Machine Mechanic

Reports to: Manager, Mechanics & Machine Maintenance
Shifts: 1st Shift (7:00am to 3:30pm) & 2nd Shift (3:30pm to 12:00am)

BASIC FUNCTION
Â
Responsible for inspecting process production and the maintenance of equipment for productivity and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Â
- Perform all required daily maintenance on machines.
- Perform set up and wash down of equipment in compliance with company protocols and as required by cGMP’s (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Performs ongoing inspections of process production to ensure machines are properly working.
- Assess, and identify any machine performance or safety issues and seek resolution through inspections, tests, and adjustments to meet standards of machine performance.
- Records all inspections, tests, repairs, and preventive maintenance in machine maintenance log.
- Disassembles equipment as required for equipment maintenance, inspects damaged parts and repairs as necessary.
- Cleans up work areas after completion of each job and prepares machines for next job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS
           Â
- Must be familiar with the tools required to maintain and repair machines.
- Mechanically inclined and possess trouble shooting skills. • Knowledge of Machine wiring and electrical components
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
- Communicate effectively using oral and written skills.
- Bilingual background a plus, must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to interact effectively with related departments.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Â
- High school diploma or equivalent. Prior electrical and mechanical experience.

EXPERIENCE
Â
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
- Must be experienced in the maintenance of the following machine types: Liquid Tube fillers, Volumetric Fillers, Cappers, Coders, Labelers, Transfer Pumps and all other related filling equipment.
