Ballymore is a leading manufacturer and distributor of rolling safety ladders, material handling equipment, aerial work platforms and safety products. The company has been in business for over 75 years. Ballymore recently completed an acquisition and is looking to grow significantly in the next 5 years. This position is open due to growth.


Staff Accountant

Essential Functions:

  • Take a leadership role in overseeing day-to-day accounting functions to accurately represent the company's financial activities.
  • Lead the reconciliation of cash accounts and oversee daily banking activities
  • Assist with daily and weekly dashboard for executive staff reflecting accounting and operational data.
  • Lead the analysis and preparation of journal entries for month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and maintain financial integrity.
  • Cross-train and collaborate on various accounts receivable processes, including daily cash receipts, invoicing, online billing portal integration, and collection activities.
  • Collaborate and cross-train in various accounts payable processes, including AP invoice entry, weekly vendor payment runs, and monthly vendor account reconciliations.
  • Track capital expense projects and maintain a comprehensive software database of all company assets, including allocation of appropriate depreciation/amortization schedules.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary ledgers and systems by verifying, allocating and posting reconciling transactions.
  • Play a key role in supporting year-end audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with auditing standards.
  • Calculate and reconcile the monthly sales tax liability for the company.
  • Participate in physical inventory processes and inventory valuation.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, and perform ad-hoc requests through collaboration with other departments
  • Generate system reports and excel spreadsheets in support of projects for executive management and corporate departments.
  • Document accounting and department policies and procedures for training purposes as needed.
  • Provide support to Executive Management in financial analysis projects, contributing valuable insights to aid in decision-making.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with Traverse Global ERP system is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, and graphs)
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed, accurate, and well-documented work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.
