General Function:

 

Vertex Professional Services (VPS) is looking for an Automotive Instructor to facilitate Instructor Led Training courses to automotive consultant’s customer setting. Candidates must be highly motivated, willing to accept new challenges, and be able to complete tasks with minimal direction, including independent study, to stay current with technology.


Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Minimum four years’ automotive technician experience
  • Current ASE Certified Master Technician (auto)
  • Professional experience delivering technical training.
  • Demonstrated professional presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of intricate automotive systems
  • Advanced automotive systems diagnostic skills as in GM Hybrid’s.
  • Demonstrated ability to work skillfully with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including Scan Tools, Lab Scopes, DVOMs, Air Conditioning Recycling Equipment, Vibration Diagnostic Equipment, etc.
  • Ability to work well with both customers and co-workers in a team environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including the use of the internet, Microsoft Office products and email.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

 

Experience:

  • One or more years automotive and or medium/heavy truck instructor experience
  • Previous technician experience in a dealership, independent service center, and/or aftermarket service repair center
  • Hybrid system experience

Education:

  • Associate degree in automotive technology or the successful completion of a formal Automotive Technology Certificate Program
  • Four years automotive technician instructor or automotive consultant experience with a high school diploma may be considered in lieu of a degree.
