     SUMMARY:
The Academic Dean serves as the director of education for the campus and is responsible for the efficient and successful operations of the education department. The Academic Dean is responsible for the oversight, hiring, scheduling, and general supervision of all campus instructors. Additionally, the Academic Dean functions as the student’s advocate in all areas to guarantee the successful completion of their programs of study.
         ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure school operations are in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies, as applicable, and interpreted and relayed to the Managing Director.
- Manage hiring, training, and supervision of all instructors.
- Conduct instructor evaluations and handle all communication regarding student-teacher evaluations.
- Monitor classrooms and competency tests.
- Assist the Student Services Coordinator in monitoring and documenting attendance.
- Monitor externship activity with the assistance of the Externship Coordinator.
- Monitor satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and counsel students as necessary.
- Assist in new student orientation and graduate recognition.
- Lead and coordinate meetings with restarts interested in returning to school. Submit appropriate documentation to the campus support center for approval.
- Participate in student activities and be available to students on break, before and after school.
- Â Assist the Managing Director as needed.
- **Other related tasks as assigned and deemed necessary.
KNOWLEDGE – SKILLS – ABILITIES:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as active listening.
- Strong ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work well with a team of other department managers to ensure symmetry of operations.
- Ability to effectively motivate and manage a large team of faculty to ensure successful student outcomes.
- Proficient with basic office equipment, computers, and computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Dorsey policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agencies’ policies and required documentation to maintain accreditation.
- Working knowledge of CampusVue software preferred, but not required
       MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or approval of V.P. of Education and Career Services.
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Must be a student-focused individual with a passion for education.
- Willingness to work hours in excess of a typical work week when necessary.

    WORKING / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extensive walking and standing.
- May be required to work late and occasional weekends to support business needs.
