Position Overview:

 

The Manufacturing Engineer supports and improves Plant 3 assembly operations by applying engineering expertise to resolve manufacturing issues, improve equipment performance, support quality and safety requirements, and implement efficient, reliable processes.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Support Operations and Trades in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
  • Support product quality investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities.
  • Lead or support equipment development, specification, validation, installation, and retooling projects.
  • Plan and execute assigned projects, including tooling budget management as required.
  • Ensure safety and ergonomic requirements are understood, documented, and followed.
  • Communicate with Engineering, Operations, Trades, Quality, and other stakeholders to meet business and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA documentation and support related process controls.
  • Process plant change notices for assigned areas.
  • Support quality and safety audits, including required documentation and follow-up actions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field required.

 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with manufacturing engineering tools, equipment design/build, or equivalent plant ME experience.
  • Working knowledge of assembly processes such as pressing, fastening, fixturing, vision systems, data collection, and tool design.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, automation, and robotics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to manage technical documentation.
  • Experience using AI tools to analyze data, identify trends, and support problem solving preferred.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods such as Fast-X, Shainin, or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
