Purpose of Role: 
 
Reporting to the General Manager, The Survey Technician will drive physical field productivity, active machine management, and rapid daily pit updates

 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Machine Control Integration: Benches GPS-equipped machinery (dozers, loaders, drills, graders) in the pit and pushes updated machine control files directly to cabs.

Daily Production Tracking: daily dig face as-builts, stockpile progress checks, and bench grade verifications.

Layout Execution: Drives the rover and sets stakes/flags for drill & blast patterns, ore control polygons, and high-wall limits.

Flight & Equipment Support: Sets Ground Control Points (GCPs) for drone flights, manages equipment staging, and maintains supply inventory (lathe, paint, batteries).

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

Education: High school diploma or GED is required
Experience: 1-3 years of mining experience 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Understanding of mining or heavy civil construction 

GPS-GIS mapping

Geometry, triangulation
