As an Admissions RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients. Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will contribute to delivering high-quality care.聽

Coastal Pines Behavioral Health will be a modern, purpose-built facility and a cornerstone of behavioral health care in Northeast Florida, designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality psychiatric services in the region.聽 The 144-bed behavioral health hospital, located in St. Johns, will offer a full continuum of services including inpatient psychiatric care, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

路 Review medical documentation for all admissions, complete medication reconciliation, and obtain admission orders from physicians.

路 Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.

路 Review referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community agencies, assessing medical and behavioral acuity and responding within designated timeframes.

路 Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing appropriate recommendations and information.

路 Conduct assessments to determine the appropriate level of care within our facility.

路 Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.

路 Facilitate the admissions process, including assessment, consent, and inventory of patient belongings.

路 Perform insurance benefit verifications and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.

路 Monitor patient status throughout the admissions process, following facility policies and physician orders.

路 Utilize web-based programs to track and review referrals.

路 Communicate projected admissions promptly to designated internal representatives.

路 Ensure timely receipt of all clinical information, including medical comorbidity, from referral sources or patients.

路 Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations to patients or their families.

路 Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payor authorization at the requested level of care.

路 Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission within payor timeframe guidelines.

路 Admit patients to the registration and accounting system, completing all necessary admission and consent forms.

路 Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, prioritizing their safety and promptly addressing concerns or complaints.

路 Coordinate care for patients who are not being admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.

路 Conduct safety checks and provide supervision as required by special precautions and individualized guidelines.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

路 Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.

路 Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the relevant area of specialty for the hiring facility.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

路 Clear and active nursing license in the state.

路 CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).

路 First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
