POSITION SUMMARY 

Accountable for completion of design tasks and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities including calculations, communications, models/drawings, programs, and bill of material releases.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Completes design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
  • Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time on each task.
  • Creates designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
  • Ensures compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
  • Completes or initiates controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
  • Completes technical drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
  • Provides Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  • Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • University Degree or Technical Diploma in engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in engineering or a related field
  • Manufacturing and assembly experience is an asset
  • Strong CAD/Unigraphics experience
  • Strong teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Travel (less than 5%)
