Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections on machined components and assembliesÂ
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirementsÂ
- Inspect tight-tolerance and critical features on precision machined componentsÂ
- Use inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IMTE) such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and indicatorsÂ
- Operate and utilize vision systems for non-contact measurement and feature verificationÂ
- Run and/or support CMM inspections using programs developed in PC-DMISÂ
- Verify failed or out-of-tolerance CMM features by:Â
- Re-measuring using alternate methods (manual tools, vision systems, or re-alignment)Â
- Identifying potential programming, alignment, or fixturing issuesÂ
- Use molding/replication putty (e.g., silicone or comparable compounds) to:Â
- Capture internal or inaccessible featuresÂ
- Enable indirect measurement of complex geometriesÂ
- Validate dimensions that cannot be directly probed or visually inspectedÂ
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material in accordance with MRB proceduresÂ
- Complete inspection reports and documentation accurately (FAI, in-process, final inspection records)Â
- Verify traceability, material certifications, and documentation complianceÂ
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to measurement discrepanciesÂ
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection areas and equipmentÂ
- Ensure proper handling and protection of precision componentsÂ
- Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / customer audits)Â
- Communicate inspection results and discrepancies clearly to production, engineering, and quality teamsÂ

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferredÂ
- 3–5 years of inspection experience in precision machining, aerospace, or manufacturingÂ
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&TÂ
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (IMTE)Â
- Experience with vision inspection systems (preferred)Â
- Experience verifying CMM results and troubleshooting measurement discrepancies (preferred)Â
- Experience using replication/molding techniques for inspection (preferred)Â
- Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems preferredÂ
- Experience with CMM operation (preferred)Â

For candidates based in Minnesota: The pay range for this position is $19.33 – $32.84 per hour. Â
