Tri-CAP is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Temporary Program Referral Specialist to join our Family Resources team! This is your chance to make a real impact on people's lives while working in a supportive, fun environment. This temporary assignment has availability for part or full time hours, with flexible hours; the assignment would run from Mid-July to the end of September, 2026.

 

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Three years of education or work experience in human services or related field.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to work independently and remain organized.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including excellent phone skills.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish or Somali)

 

What You'll Do

  • Utilize agency communication tools (including text messages, email, and chat features, as well as phone calls and in-person discussions) to guide applicants through eligibility guidelines and application requirements for Tri-CAP programs.
  • Assess immediate and basic needs of clients and determine appropriate resources, both internal and external; and, if necessary, provide appropriate referrals.
  • Assist in completing program applications as needed.
  • Conduct follow up activities with clients, including phone calls, mailing, providing advocacy services, etc.
  • Track referrals, activities and enrollments and enter data into appropriate client services databases.
  • Participate in outreach, marketing and enrollment activities for Family Resource programs as needed.
