JOB TITLE: Shipping and Receiving I (Data Entry/Receiver)

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Manager, packs and prepares customer orders for shipping, updates the system with shipped orders to include invoices and product inventory according to established procedures and shipping regulations and meets customer delivery requirements. 

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Pulls picking ticket from bins.
  • Enters sales orders, carrier information, freight, and tracking numbers into the computer.
  • Accurately record, calculate, and interpret numeric data using English‑language systems and documentation.
  • Tracks product location/bay when pulled to fulfill orders.
  • Produces electronic customer invoices for billing
  • Ensure customer order and product match, box, crate, and shrink-wrap as necessary. 
  • Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct. 
  • Verify the quantity and quality of materials shipped. 
  • Operate a bander to band boxes to be shipped as needed. 
  • Affix the completed address label and any other special labels required for the handling of material and specified by the carrier. 
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork. 
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. 
  • Process recycled products as needed. 
  • Follow and ensure safety rules and regulations are followed by handling all products, materials, and equipment safely.
  • Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

 Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred 
  • Valid Driver’s license to drive the company truck preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft 
  • Experience in Transportation Software 
  • Pallet jack and/or order picker machinery experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform tasks repetitively
  • Excellent attendance record 
  • Able to follow written and verbal work instructions. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Operate a banding machine as needed
  • Customer oriented and works well with teams.
  • Other duties as assigned
