Job Title:  Quality Technician – Automotive Manufacturing


Shift: 1st – Hours 6:00am – 2:30pm

         

Location: Ridgeville, SC


Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends when needed


PAY RATE: $19.00/hr

Job Summary


Quality Technicians are responsible for evaluating, inspecting, troubleshooting, and verifying automotive components to ensure they meet customer quality standards. Working within automotive manufacturing and containment environments, technicians utilize mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, and attention to detail to identify defects, perform quality assessments, verify repairs and rework, and support corrective actions. Assignments vary based on customer needs and may include inspection, containment, component evaluation, part verification, documentation, and other technical quality support activities. This position requires individuals who enjoy hands-on work, are mechanically inclined, and can adapt to changing customer requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate automotive components for quality, workmanship, and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Inspect, verify, and assess parts using visual inspections, gauges, measuring devices, fixtures, and other quality equipment.
  • Diagnose quality concerns and identify defects, damage, or nonconforming conditions.
  • Perform containment, sorting, verification, inspection, and quality support activities within manufacturing, warehouse, and yard environments.
  • Read and interpret customer work instructions, quality standards, inspection criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Accurately document inspection results and quality findings.
  • Work closely with customer personnel to support quality improvement initiatives and resolve product concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional technical quality duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to evaluate automotive components and assemblies.
  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, mechanical, maintenance, technical, or quality-related environments preferred.
  • Ability to use or learn measuring devices, gauges, inspection equipment, and hand tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and follow technical work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing facilities, warehouses, production lines, and outdoor containment environments.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and willing to work overtime or weekends as customer demands require.
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, manufacturing technician, maintenance technician, quality technician, or similar technical role is a plus but not required.
