Job Description Summary

The Program

Par Health offers an 11-week internship program designed to provide an immersive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As a Par Health Intern, you’ll have the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that align with your field of study. This program allows you to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world corporate setting while building valuable connections through networking opportunities across the organization.

Summary of Position

The intern will assist a digital cataloging project. Under the direction of the librarian, the intern will assist in moving digital files to an internal OPAC. Records will be created for each file utilizing keywords and other metadata to increase discoverability.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Identify best practice to migrate digitized microfilm to OPAC
  • Add records to OPAC utilizing appropriate metadata
  • Ensure added records are discoverable by patrons

Minimum Requirements

Enrolled in master’s degree program related to library science

  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat as well as general familiarity with OPAC formats
  • Able to work independently following established guidelines
  • Understanding of search strategies and importance of accurate metadata

Relationship with Others/Scope of Position

Interact with other team members and cross functionally as needed
