Job Description:
About Us
BW Design Group is a fully integrated architecture, engineering, construction, system integration, and consulting firm committed to helping clients turn strategy into execution across advanced industrial, manufacturing, and mission-critical environments. Rooted in our Truly Human Leadership culture, we partner with clients in food & beverage, life sciences, industrial, advanced technology, and data center markets to deliver high-performance, future-ready facilities.
Barry-Wehmiller, our parent company, is a global engineering and manufacturing technology organization with over 12,000 team members who share one mission: use business to build a better world.
Who You'll Work With
As a Project Executive – Low Voltage CSI Construction (Data Centers), you will join our Architecture + Engineering + Construction (AEC) Business, collaborating with senior leaders, controls systems integration engineers, preconstruction teams, project managers, and mission-critical subject-matter experts. You will lead the construction delivery of low-voltage controls systems integration (CSI) scope on fast-paced, high-complexity data center programs across the U.S., ensuring operational excellence, schedule certainty, and alignment with client performance requirements.
You'll build and lead a dedicated construction team, coordinate closely with our internal CSI design engineers, support pursuit strategy, and drive solutions that translate our clients' capital program goals into fully installed and operational low-voltage controls infrastructure.
What You'll Do
1. Construction Delivery Leadership – Low Voltage CSI (Data Centers)
- Serve as the senior construction executive accountable for the delivery of low-voltage controls systems integration scope across a portfolio of concurrent data center programs ranging from $5M to $50M per project.
- Own overall project execution — schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction — across multiple active programs simultaneously.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and equipment suppliers specific to the low-voltage and controls market.
- Establish and manage project-level forecasts, budgets, and resource plans; ensure financial performance targets are met.
2. Preconstruction Coordination & Design-Build Transition
- Partner with internal CSI design and engineering teams during preconstruction to ensure constructability, scope clarity, and seamless transition from design to field execution.
- Participate in the review of design packages, bridging documents, and RFPs to provide construction-informed input on scheduling, sequencing, logistics, and trade partner strategy.
- Contribute construction pricing perspectives and scope validation during cost opinions at key stage gates (30%, 60%, 90%).
3. Project & Commercial Management
- Own CSI construction scope budgets, cost controls, and change management across all active programs.
- Lead scope reviews, trade partner negotiations, pricing justification, and contract administration for low-voltage CSI work packages.
- Ensure all controls systems installation work is sequenced, coordinated, and delivered in accordance with schedule milestones and critical path dependencies.
4. Team Building & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing construction delivery team of Project Managers and Superintendents dedicated to low-voltage CSI work in the mission-critical market.
- Mentor team members on construction best practices, project delivery standards, and professional growth.
- Promote the consistent use of project management tools, workflows, reporting standards, and best practices across the team.
5. Field Execution & Quality
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to field teams on site logistics, manpower planning, subcontractor coordination, and installation standards for low-voltage systems including BMS, EPMS, structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and DCIM infrastructure.
- Champion a safety-first culture across all project sites and team operations.
- Validate quality control processes — including inspections, testing protocols, and pre-functional checklists — to support the internal CSI engineering team's commissioning and turnover requirements.
6. Client Relations & Business Development Support
- Serve as the senior client-facing representative for low-voltage CSI construction execution on major data center programs.
- Support business development pursuits by contributing technical narratives, construction strategies, and win themes for design-build opportunities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key trade contractors, controls equipment suppliers, and national low-voltage partners.
What You'll Bring
Experience & Expertise
- 15+ years of progressive construction experience, with a significant focus on low-voltage systems, controls systems integration, or building technology in mission-critical or data center environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of concurrent projects and leading construction teams (Project Managers and Superintendents) in a design-build delivery model.
- Track record of successfully delivering projects valued from $5M to $50M in low-voltage CSI scope complexity.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems commonly deployed in data centers, including but not limited to: BMS/BAS, EPMS, structured cabling, fire alarm, security/access control, and DCIM.
- Working knowledge of trade partner procurement, subcontract management, and commercial administration.
- Experience coordinating with design and engineering teams in an integrated delivery environment; ability to translate design intent into executable field plans.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
Technical & Professional Skills
- Proficiency in construction technology platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools (MS Project / P6).
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to low-voltage systems in mission-critical environments (BICSI, NFPA, NEC).
- Strong commercial acumen — budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with executive-level clients and internal leadership.
Other Requirements
- Based in or willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO.
- Ability to travel for project execution, client engagements, and site oversight across the U.S.
- Ability to conduct thorough jobsite walks including ladders, equipment platforms, and multi-level structures.
Our Commitment to You
You will join an organization grounded in mutual respect, integrity, and a deep commitment to the growth of our people. As a Project Executive, you will benefit from mentorship, individualized development plans, and a flexible, entrepreneurial model that empowers you to shape your own career path.
If you're ready to lead some of the most complex low-voltage controls installations in the mission-critical industry — and help build the data centers that power the world — we'd love to talk.
