Business Analyst 

 

Bayer Digital Farming (DFS) is seeking a Business Analyst to collaborate with Commercial and Marketing teams to support the execution of global commercial strategies. The Business Analyst will work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to derive insights that influence decision making and improve business performance. This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, identification of metrics/KPIs, creation of reports, storytelling and development & maintenance of data analytic processes and systems. 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

 

  • Be a trusted partner to DFS Leaders and other stakeholders helping them to solve problems and advance their understanding of the business.  

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data collected by FieldView and other sources and provide support to global teams advising them on data processes and related systems. 

  • Support the development of reporting solutions by interpreting business requirements and delivering innovative solutions (automated/ad-hoc reporting) to address them. Assist with storytelling by creating content that helps to visualize and interpret data trends. 

  • Partner with the US and Canada Sales/Marketing teams to develop OKRs and Operational Targets. 

  • Perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources 

  • Build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our business.  

  • Develop new insights and analyses to help the business to make informed decisions. 

  • Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization to help understand how growers are interacting with our product  

  • Effectively summarize and present critical findings to stakeholders and leadership  

  • Interact with their team members in a positive way and take direction from their project lead and manager.  Learn when to seek help, when to continue their own, and what their role is within the team.  

  • Identify gaps in data and articulate issues.  Has the ability to provide accurate and complete reports with limited insights and conclusions. 

  

WHO YOU ARE 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Math or a related quantitative discipline with 1-2 years of experience in business analytics roles.  

  • Prior experience working with CRM (Salesforce), data platforms (BigQuery), data reporting tools (Tableau and PowerBI) and data visualization and dashboarding experience 

  • Highly detail oriented and proficient in wrangling data from disparate sources and developing reports/dashboards that provide actionable insights 

  • Ability to analyze business processes and make recommendations to ensure automated rather than manual reporting solutions 

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and proficient in SQL and VBA 

  • Self-starter who enjoys working in both individual and team settings  

  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills 

  • Understanding of agricultural systems, including soil science, crop production, and sustainable farming practices 

 

Preferred: 

  • Development experience with BI platforms like Tableau and PowerBI 

  • An understanding of master data management, relational databases, columnar databases, and ETL. 

  • Proficient in Python or R 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $54k-$82k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
